On Monday, on market close, PKR continued to gain value. It went up against USD in both interbank and open markets. It also gained value against Euro, AED and SR in open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, on market close, Pakistan Rupee gained 20 paisas for buying and 15 paisas for selling against USD over last Thursday’s rates closing at 160 and 160.10 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 60 paisas for buying and 40 paisas for selling over last Thursday’s rates closing at 159.50 and 160 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR went up by 2.50 rupees for buying and 2 rupee for selling closing at 184 and 186 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR went up by 5 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling closing at 43.30 and 43.50 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 10 paisas for buying and 15 paisas for selling closing at 42.20 and 42.40 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee appreciated its worth in the process of trading against the greenback and the British pound in the open currency market on Monday.
Following lack of buyers’ interest in the market, the greenback commenced trading on a negative note and remained under selling pressure throughout the trading session. As a result, the greenback ended lower for buying and selling at Rs 159.50 and Rs 160.90 against the previous closing trend of Rs 160.10 and Rs 161.50 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Similarly, the local currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 204.50 and Rs 205.70 against the last closing rate of Rs 207.00 and Rs 208.60 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee gained 40 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.
The dollar opened at Rs160.40(buying) and Rs161.50 (selling) against last rate of Rs160.80(buying) and Rs161.90 (selling).
It closed at Rs160.40(buying) and Rs161.50 (selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 115,100(selling) and Rs115,000(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
